Dancer just phoned. The people across the street from him in Brooklyn
say that they can have
adult goats (heads and fur on) with 2 days
notice. The cost is about $4.50 $5.00 a pound we're estimating an
adult at 50 pounds (???)
If we want it for dress rehearsal we should probably order
it by Sunday, Oct 17.
Producer, what size freezer are you planning on getting? Dancer was
wondering if we should get both at the same time.

Cool. I'll see if Dancer can get a look and see what size an adult
actually is. He said they didn't have any today, I think
they
slaughter to order.

Actually they said $4.00-$4.50/lb. An adult goat is probably about
the size of a medium to large-sized German Sheppard. When I worked at the vet clinic I was always surprised by how many pets
we could fit in the freezer-- a standard flip-top freezer which was about 40 cu/ft. Animals can be folded up pretty small
when compressed into garbage bags, even Great Danes.
I'll go back again later this week to see if they have any 'samples'.

Medium size. Let's say a teenager rather than adult!

Yeah, this was an interesting thread to come home to....
Especially after seeing a Wim Vandekeybus
piece in which they eat ppl on film...
So looks like we are talking $250/ goat and maybe 3 goats?!?!
I
think that is all we can swing budget wise. Hopefully the freezer is a strong one :)
Dancer, thanks for all
the research!!!

Probably only need 2 goats. I'm going to find out if I can be
there for the slaughter. If I'm ordering the execution of a creature, I want to be there. Anyone else interested?
